Day 5 - Behind the scenes in Lincoln - the secrets of Rosslyn Chapel and Edinburgh

It's time to move to Lincoln!

Even if you have not been to London, King's Cross may sound familiar to you. That's because it was mentioned in Harry Potter. Hahahaha....we are definitely taking a magical train to the quaint little town.

Aha! Joyce and I were trying our luck ...

with other group members.

And the train took us to Lincoln finally!

This is Lincoln Cathedral.

Lincoln Cathedral is one of the great Gothic cathedral of Northern Europe and has stood proudly here in Lincoln for over 900 years. It was begun shortly after the Norman Conquest in 1066 and was rebuilt and largely completed by St Hugh in the Twelfth Century. The great Easy End was later rebuilt to house St Hugh's Shrine as this Cathedral became a significant centre of pilgrimage through the middle ages.

The Cathedral was chosen as a location to fil Da Vinci Code and that is to turn the place into Westminster Abbey.

I did mention that their gardens are so sweet-smelling. Check out the lavenders.

The Thai siblings and me.

This is used for baptism where water will be filled and baby will be dipped.

The grand organ!

As the name goes ...Lincoln Castle.

I feel that the place of worship usually draws more WOWs than the house of Kings.

The boundaries of the castle.

A photo with friends. Fyi, the girl is only about 16 years old. I feel quite young hahaha.

Now it's time to move on to Edinburgh.
This is the train station that I will never forget. Due to a faulty train, we did not manage to get up on the train that we originally had wanted to take due to overcrowding. Many futile attempts were made to hop onto subsequent trains with about 50 other group members.

We ended up squatting, standing and idling at this train station for a full 3 hours. Finally, the agent hired a bus to take us to our final destination. By the time we reached Edinburgh, it was about 1am. Yawn X 100 times
