Day 2 - Night at Paris
I must say I am definitely impressed with Eurostar - from the train terminal (which is close to an airport) to their service. The overall package is definitely better than the bullet train in Japan though the design of the bullet trains in Japan is much better.
Anyway, after alighting from the train, we had to figure our way to the hotel in Paris where we would meet with the other members in the Da Vinci Code Codebreaker tour. By god's grace, we actually met a couple from Dubai, Lorraine and Daniel after alighting from the train. They suggested that we share the cab with them. Phew, that would save us some cash since taking cabs in other 1st world country can be pretty hurting to the wallet and heart. They guessed that we were from the same tour group as they were surveying ME in the train. I actually read the Dan Brown book during the ride to catch up with the plot after last reading it 2 years ago.
So we reached Novotel Paris Gare De Lyon at around 6pm. It is near the train station where Sophie and Robert made their escape by attempting to con the police. Due to the late arrival, we did not manage to join the group in noon for a visit to the famous department store, Les Galaries Lafayette. So we decided to venture our way to the famous Eiffel Tower in this French city.
Hmnn, love Eiffel Tower cos the lights and the architecture are simple amazing. Just can't imagine how the French did it in the 1800s. Abit siao to embark on this magnificent project at that time. The only thing was the queue at Eiffel Tower to get to the top. Due to us being so late in arriving there, we could only get up to the 2nd floor, which is the mid-section of the tower to admire the scenery. Won't be showing the view from up there as I realise both our cameras just cannot make it! So I will just show yall the better pics and those will conclude the night in Paris, a city of lights.
